TECHNOLOGY NEWS: Claim Apple computers 'emit toxic gas'

APPLE'S Mac Pro computer emits cancer-causing gas, a French newspaper has alleged.
In news that has sparked an internal investigation by Apple and frenzied blogging, Liberation cited findings that the computer emits seven "volatile organic contaminants" including styrene, benzene and its derivatives.
Benzene, a carcinogen, damages bone marrow and can decrease red blood cells, leading to leukemia and other blood cancers.
The researcher from the French National Centre for Scientific Research said his computer had released a musty smell. It allegedly comes from Mac Pros built before 2008.
Apple has not denied the report but told Macworld magazine it had no evidence of the claim
